Cleckheaton school children illustrate the play safe stay safe essentials - January 01

Thanks to the efforts of Portford Homes, Cleckheaton school children are now fully aware of the pitfalls of playing on or near building sites.Following a 'play safe stay safe' lesson given by the house builder - who is responsible for the new homes development Spenmill Grange off Snelsins Road - the children at Moorend C of E First School in Cleckheaton were invited to design a warning poster illustrating the important safety messages.

David Mackintosh, sales and marketing director at Portford Homes said: "The children were invited to Spenmill Grange before the Christmas holidays in order for us to help explain the importance of safety around building sites, especially as they can sometimes get bored during school holidays.

"It's important for the children to know where it's safe to play out. Building sites can be potentially very hazardous places for young children and therefore it is of absolute importance to drill that message home. The art competition presented us with a great tool to use to deliver the message in a light hearted way."

At the start of the new school term David Mackintosh visited Moorend School to present the winning artists of the poster competition with book tokens. 1st place went to Adam Cogan, 2nd place to Ruby Cooper and 3rd to Abigail Swift.
Head teacher Michelle Bouabida said: "A very important message was given during the site visit and the day had a big impact on the children. Portford have helped the children gain a better understanding of the potential dangers posed by building sites in a fun way and they have really enjoyed designing the posters."

The wide range of family properties at Spenmill Grange are competitively priced, and in conjunction with a choice of fantastic offers, they are sure to provide complete satisfaction to a mixture of buyers. Prices for the selection of two bedroom apartments, three and four-bedroom townhouses and four-bedroom detached properties range from £127,500 to £285,000.
