Portford Homes become the FULL STOP and raise over £10,000 for the NSPCC - November 01

Portford Homes and 300 of their guests have raised over £10,500 at the inaugural Portford Homes Charity Ball, in aid of the NSPCC. The Portford Homes donation marks the launch of the NSPCC's Be the FULL STOP campaign, which is encouraging individuals to take an action to end child cruelty.

Long-standing suppliers, sub-contractors and Portford Homes employees attended a glittering charity ball at the four-star Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate on Friday 26 October to eat, drink and be merry but most importantly to put their hands in their pockets to help boost the funds of the leading children's charity.

An exceptionally generous auction featuring football memorabilia from top premiership clubs including Manchester United, tickets to watch England Vs Croatia at Wembley in the Euro 2008 Qualifier plus a raffle, the evening raised a record amount to help the NSPCC continue with its much-needed work.

John Carter, Managing Director at Portford Homes commented: "The good work undertaken by the NSPCC is a cause in which I believe strongly and have supported for many years. I am very grateful to all our guests for their continuous devotion to both Portford Homes and the NSPCC and I hope the money raised will go someway to helping toward the mammoth running costs needed to keep the charity going."

Katie Bland, corporate fundraising manager for NSPCC, says: "The evening was a great success and raising over £10,000 was a fantastic achievement. Like Portford Homes, we can all help end child cruelty and Be the FULL STOP, simply by logging onto www.bethefullstop.com.

Katie continues: "We are really grateful to Portford Homes for their ongoing support and would like to thank everyone who attended the charity dinner for their kindness and fantastic generosity."

Portford Homes currently has a number of developments including Chantry Square in Wakefield, Ingleton Mews and Cypress Heights in Barnsley, Spenmill Grange in Cleckheaton and the newly launched Vision in Bingley.
